Photoreporitng. It is based on photos/images taken first handedly for the field. Phtoreporting provides empirical and qualitative evidence on the elements we examine. Benifits of this tehcnique are:
a. It is easier than data collection and analysis: "One picture tells a thousand words"
b. Interesting: working with cameras is an enjoyable and exciting activity
c. Most importantly evidence is effective and reliable: “seeing is believing”.
Photo reporting workshop conducted for ADRA Sri Lanka for its staff capacity development on M and E, with Photoreporting.
I got an opportunity to learn the "Photo reporting" technique in a three-day training workshop conducted by GENINDE. I've been able to use the skills and tips I've learned right away with great results, and my M and E reports now carry a better presentation, mostly by saving time. Photo reporting provides clear evidence of field interventions I handle, and is easier to convince the audience, without writing detailed descriptions in the report. The photo report I prepared was really appreciated by my supervisors and donors. Thank you GENINDE for providing such training for me, and I highly recommend other professionals in Community Development and related fields in NGOs and similar organizations this three-day course.
